How We Help
DENS Dacorum Foodbank
DENS Dacorum Foodbank, run in partnership with the Trussell Trust, provides emergency food parcels to people in need. Unlike other DENS services, the Foodbank is focused on any member of the community, homeless or not, who is experiencing short term financial crisis. People can receive up to three parcels, which are sized for single people or families to provide food for three days.
DENS Day Centre
DENS Day Centre is often the first point of contact for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Its main objectives are to provide basic support such as food, clothing and shower facilities, as well as working with homeless people to identify their needs and refer them to further DENS services or give assistance with issues such as eviction or benefits claims.
DENS Emergency Accommodation

Launched in 2015, The Elms is a 44 bed facility providing emergency temporary accommodation for the people of Dacorum.

DENS Move On

For people who have come through other DENS services, DENS Move On provides support for a move into more independent living. For homeless people who can afford to rent but don’t have the funds for a deposit, DENS has arrangements with local landlords to provide a guarantee for 2 years in place of a deposit.

DENS Furniture Warehouse

DENS Furniture Warehouse is a shop with a major difference, with the ethos Give Sell Recycle.

Equipped to Change
The aim of the Equipped to Change project is to support DENS Service Users in continuing to improve their lives and, where appropriate, to move into employment.
Real Life Stories

Each person coming to DENS has their own personal story, how they ended up homeless. Here are some of the real life stories from our service users.
