Run by DENS in partnership with Dacorum Borough Council, The Elms is a temporary, 44-bed emergency accommodation facility for homeless individuals.
Covering 5 floors, the building provides a number of important features, including:
Those who take up residence at the facility have the opportunity to work with a reliable key worker where together, they can create an action plan for the person in need, calling in other agencies if necessary. We have contacts who specialise in issues such as mental health, substance misuse and relationships. Volunteers are also on hand to provide fun activities and a listening ear. Thanks to our work at The Elms, we have also seen a huge number of residents improve their confidence and self-esteem through basic life and employment skill building sessions.
