Bike Project


The Bike Project provides opportunities for DENS clients to learn bike maintenance skills and build their confidence in a supportive environment.

Under the supervision of our Bike Project manager, our clients learn to refurbish bikes that have been donated to us, which we then sell to help fund the project. Each participant gets to keep a bike they have worked on. The Bike Project also offers bike repairs and a wide range of bike servicing options.

Absolutely brilliant, got a gold service on all 3 of my bikes over the last year and WOW couldnt sing there praises anoth.Adam is a bike Jedi as far as I’m concerned and really really knows his stuff. Genuinely can’t fault them one bit, brilliant value amazing communication and buy using them your also supporting a great cause.(5 stars isn’t anoth google!)

My bike enjoyed a thorough service I dropped and collected it the same day. Everything was tested, aligned and tweaked and a few bits replaced (I was offered quotes before choosing the options I wanted.) It was just like having a new bike afterwards. Delighted with speed and quality of the work.

Excellent service, very knowledgeable and great communication.The level of service I experienced was way beyond my expectations of a charity bike shop. They took my part built bike and finished it to be a superb gravel bike.Adam is a first class mechanic and I have no hesitation in recommending him. It will now be my "go to" bike shop.

Excellent service. Adam is a very good and thorough mechanic with good updates whilst your bike is being serviced.Very good value for money and a better option than other more expensive bike shops.Lastly funds go to a very good homeless project.

Sustainability

We are passionate about the environment and sustainability. Not only does the project help save bikes from landfill, we also recycle all used inner tubes and tyres! We’ve partnered with Velorim and Schwalbe for this, and we’re pleased we can offer this service to our customers and community. Just bring your tubes and tyres for recycling to the shop during opening hours and we’ll do the rest. There is no charge for inner tube recycling. For tyres, it’s pay as you feel.

The Bike Project is also an official free Refill water station. Simply pop in, ask us to fill up your reusable water bottle and help stop plastic pollution at source.
