The Bike Project

Address: 1 Rossgate, Gadebridge, Hemel Hempstead HP1 3LG
Opening hours: Tuesday to Saturday – 10am-5pm

The Bike Project workshop provides a relaxed atmosphere for people to learn a new skill and build their confidence, in a supportive environment.

Our participants refurbish bikes that are donated to us, which we then sell from our workshop to help fund the project. Each participant also gets to keep a bike they have worked on. The Bike Project also offers a wide range of bike servicing options.

If you’d like to get involved or donate a bike, please email bikeproject@dens.org.uk or call 01442 800269.

The Kitchen Café

DENS is proud to run The Kitchen Café in partnership with another local charity, Sunnyside Rural Trust.

The Kitchen is based in the atrium of the Forum on The Marlowes in Hemel Hempstead, with the building being home to Dacorum Borough Council. The café sells hot drinks, snacks, sandwiches and sweet treats to council staff and visitors, Monday to Friday, 8am to 3pm.

The café provides opportunities for DENS clients to learn customer service and food preparation skills, and to build their confidence in a supportive environment. Alongside experienced staff from Sunnyside Rural Trust, they help to run the café, with all the profits going back into the project.
