DENS chosen as Mayor’s official charity

We’re thrilled to announce that DENS has been chosen as the official charity of Dacorum’s newly-elected Mayor, Councillor Stewart Riddick.

Cllr Riddick, a Dacorum resident for over 40 years, has been acting Deputy Mayor for the past two years and served as a Councillor since 2015. He was sworn in at the annual Mayor-making ceremony in May – which was attended by our CEO, Wendy Lewington.

Each year, the Mayor raises funds for their chosen charity through direct fundraising events and other activities. Make sure to keep an eye out for a host of exciting activities, which will be shared across our website and social media platforms in due course.

Mayor, Cllr Riddick said: “I am looking forward to working with the staff and volunteers at DENS and learn more about their integrated services.

“I hope that by highlighting the great work they do in Dacorum, I will look back on my Mayoral year and be proud to have played a part in assisting more diverse groups and vulnerable people in crisis, to access the support they need to help them break free from the cycle of poverty and homelessness.”
