How to make the most of your JustGiving fundraising by connecting to Strava

When it comes to fundraising for DENS, so many of our supporters love to get active. Whether it’s taking on our Hemel Hillbuster cycling event, swimming the distance of the English Channel or conquering a marathon, our amazing fundraisers like nothing more than embarking on an epic fitness challenge while raising vital funds and awareness for the charity!

That’s why we’re super excited to let you know about JustGiving’s integration with the well-known fitness app, Strava. Thanks to this brilliant feature, supporters can maximize their fundraising by automatically sharing fitness tracking and training photos to their JustGiving fundraising page. Best of all, it’s super easy to set up.

In case you’re not familiar with Strava, this free-to-use app enables users to create and track routes, connect with friends, create clubs (perfect for team fundraising!) and so much more. So, no matter if you’re a fitness fanatic or just getting into a sporty new lifestyle, Strava has all the essentials you need for training.

What are the benefits of connecting Strava to JustGiving?

Keeping friends and family up to date with your fitness training is a superb way of keeping them engaged with your fundraising challenge. In fact, statistics from JustGiving show that fundraisers who share fitness activities on their page raise 40% more on average!

Not only will sharing Strava activity make those tough workouts feel even more rewarding, you’ll be showing the world just how committed you are to raising money for DENS and reaching your fundraising targets.

How to get started

It’s easy to connect your JustGiving page to Strava. Follow these simple steps and you’ll be ready to make every training mile count on your fundraising journey.

Step 1: Log in to your JustGiving account and go to the fundraising page you wish to connect to Strava. Scroll down the page and select the ‘Connect with Strava’ button.

Step 2: You will then need to log in to or register with Strava. It’s free to open an account and JustGiving do not charge to use the integration feature.

Step 3: Finally, confirm some Strava permissions and save your fitness preferences.

That’s it, you’re now fully set up!

You can connect more than one JustGiving fundraising page to your Strava account. You can also have different sports activities shared on different pages e.g. one page showing cycling and another showing running.

If you need any help with setting up your JustGiving page and connecting to Strava, our Fundraising Team will be happy to help. Get in touch by emailing fundraising@dens.org.uk.
