Dear DENS supporter,
We’re excited to have launched our first ever DENS Legacy Week!
Throughout the week – across our social media, website and this newsletter – we’re exploring the power of legacy giving and how it can shape a brighter future for many years to come.

Legacy Week is here
Legacy giving means leaving a financial gift in your Will to a cause you care about – like DENS. It’s a simple, powerful way to ensure your values live on and help future generations rebuild their lives.
Your legacy could provide warm accommodation during the cold winter, emergency food for hungry families, tailored support into secure housing and employment, and so much more.
Leaving a gift is easy, costs nothing in your lifetime and can be arranged in just a few steps. If you believe in kindness, dignity and community, legacy giving is your chance to make a difference that lives on.

Buy Christmas cards in support of DENS
We’re delighted to be selling a range of Christmas cards as part of our fundraising again this festive season.
Our new designs have just landed – with something for everyone – and you can buy them now! If you’re interested, please act quickly, as they sold out last year.

One step closer to the DENS Centre
We were delighted to join councillors and partners for a ceremonial brick laying as we move closer to our new DENS Centre building in Hemel Hempstead!
This purpose-built space will house our Foodbank, a community café and headquarters – providing a welcoming hub for local people facing crisis.
This project is a testament to the powerful partnership between Dacorum Borough Council and DENS, working together to make a lasting difference in our community.

Last chance to join the Sponsored Sleepout
This is your final call to be part of a special night under the stars on Friday 21st November at Hammond Academy, Hemel Hempstead.
Enjoy an evening of entertainment, soak up the community spirit and then swap your cosy bed for cardboard and sleeping bags to make a real impact for those who are homeless in our community.
Spaces are filling fast – don’t miss out!

A special visit to Watford FC’s training centre
To commemorate World Homeless Day this month and the launch of the upcoming Stadium Sleepout fundraising event, local charities came together for a special football match at Watford FC’s training centre.
Clients and staff from DENS, Herts Young Homeless, New Hope, One YMCA and the Watford FC CSE Trust took to the pitch in a celebration of community, teamwork and support.
One DENS client said: “It was a once in a lifetime opportunity. Thanks to everyone for letting us come!”

Donate to our Foodbank
Your donation will make a difference for local families and individuals experiencing food poverty. Our most needed items include:
- Tinned fruit
- Baked beans
- Tinned/packet soup
- Carrier bags
- Shower gel
- and much more

Well done to our Royal Parks runners
A huge thank you to Amanda, Andrew, Kelly and Ryan for completing the Royal Parks Half Marathon for us earlier this month. Together, they have raised over £2,000!
