Our bike project has reopened!

We are thrilled to say that our Bike Project is BACK! Yesterday, our workshop officially reopened its doors to vulnerable or socially excluded adults in the community.

The Bike Project provides a relaxed atmosphere for these people to learn new skills and build their confidence. As well as that, the bikes that are repaired in our workshop are offered back to DENS clients, giving back to them the benefits of regular exercise and independence and, most importantly, transportation to look for employment. This way, they are able to get back into work and rebuild their life.

Of course, the Bike Project now has a whole new look with social distancing measure put in place to ensure the safety of our service users and staff.

  • Each person has their own workbench which have been spread out across the workshop more than 2m apart.
  • Each of these workstations has its own set of tools which are cleaned after each use
  • A one-way system has been put in place to make it easy to move around the workshop safely.

Re-opening this service means a lot for our service users and will also mean there will be lots of bikes for members of the community to purchase to enjoy in the lovely weather!
