On Friday 25th March, 25 teams of friends, family and colleagues from across the community gathered for our Spring Quiz at Hobbs Hill Wood Primary School.
Our wonderful Quiz Queen, Jan Maddern, compered the sold out event, where a whopping 164 participants took on seven rounds of fiendishly tricky trivia questions.
During the action-packed evening, quizzers were treated to a delicious fish and chips supper, courtesy of Sea World in Nash Mills. Attendees were also invited to enter a grand tombola, which raised £590.
We are thrilled to announce that the event raised an incredible £3,000. This money could help run our Foodbank for eight days, supporting those facing the impossible choice of heating or eating during this cost of living crisis.
A big congratulations to the night’s winning team, ‘Half A Dozen Egg Heads’, who edged to a nail-biting victory by just half a point!
Stephen Hubbard, a regular DENS volunteer and participant at the quiz, said: “A big thank you from the ‘For Your Quiz Only’ team. All credit is due to the hard work of preparing, organising, publicising and running, then clearing up afterwards. Well done to those who made it such fun to participate!”
