The Day Centre is often the first port of call for our services

It is a welcoming space where you can find expert support, access essentials, meet others and develop new skills.

The centre is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm (excluding Bank Holidays) – with morning and afternoon sessions providing different types of support:

9am to 1.30pm

Open for people experiencing homelessness (including people staying at The Elms hostel or in Crash Pad). During this time, visitors can:

  • Socialise and relax
  • Have breakfast (9-10am) and lunch (12.30-1.30pm)
  • Use the showers, laundry, internet, phones and charging points
  • Get clothing and toiletries
  • Meet with DENS staff and other agencies for advice and support around accommodation, health and wellbeing etc.

1.30 to 4pm

Open to anyone experiencing homelessness, poverty or social exclusion. During this time, visitors can:

  • Socialise and relax
  • Take part in activities such as quizzes, arts and crafts, games or discussion groups
  • Get support with things like employment, money, housing and life skills
