Dear DENS supporter,
As we welcome you to our last newsletter of the year, we’d like to say a big thank you for your ongoing support!
Very best wishes for the festive season ahead, from all of us at DENS

Increased emergency accommodation this winter
As temperatures plummet, we are committed to supporting those at risk of sleeping rough – who face a multitude of threats to their health and wellbeing.
In partnership with Dacorum Borough Council, we have increased our emergency bed spaces by 50% to ensure no one has to sleep out in the cold.
Not only do we offer a warm, safe space to sleep and a hot meal, but also tailored support to engage with our services and take the next positive step

You can help rescue local people from fear and isolation this Christmas
A gift of £25 or more could give someone a chance to feel safe and secure this festive season. Please choose to make a gift to DENS.
Give the gift of cycling
Looking for Christmas gifts that get your loved ones moving? Our Bike Project has a fantastic range of affordable, reconditioned kids and adult bikes that are great for the planet and your wallet!
We can also build new bikes for you, ready for the big day.

Help keep our Foodbank stocked
Your donation, big or small, can make a real difference for local families, couples and individuals who could use a helping hand this Christmas.
High-need items include:
- Tinned ham/corned beef
- Tinned fruit
- Cooking sauces
- Long life juice/squash
- Jams and spreads
- Large roasting trays

A double bill of fantastic fundraising events
We’re thrilled to report that our Sponsored Sleepout had a record number of sign-ups, as participants braved sub-zero temperatures to help raise over £24,000 so far – including sponsorship from our event sponsor, Safran.
The following weekend saw a sold-out audience join us for a special reading of A Christmas Carol, starring our Patron, Adrian Scarborough. The fabulously festive night raised more than £7,000.
Thank you to all our amazing participants, guests, volunteers and staff who made these events so special!

Help us shape a new kind of café
We’re exploring the idea of opening a social enterprise café that offers a welcoming, alcohol-free space for everyone – including those in recovery, seeking sobriety or simply looking for a relaxed, inclusive environment.
If you can spare five minutes to complete our survey and share with others, your voice will help us shape something truly meaningful for the community.

Final Christmas cards remaining
We only have a handful of packs left, with delivery or collection options available, so please act fast if you’re interested.
The final date for postal orders is Monday 15th December, or until stocks last.
