Make A Will Month

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in our 2024 Make A Will Month in March, and a special shout out to our wonderful partner solicitors for giving up their time in support of DENS. Unfortunately, the initiative only runs throughout the month of March, however we will be running the programme again next year! If you’d like to be notified once we’ve confirmed the solicitors for our 2024 programme, please email wills@dens.org.uk.

In the meantime, you can visit our Gifts In Wills page to learn more about leaving a gift in your Will to DENS, which you can do any time of the year via Kwil (a free online Will-writing service) or directly with your solicitor. If you don’t already have one and are looking for some examples of Will-writers, we have shared the names of some great local firms below who have supported DENS in the past.

How it works

Local Will-writers are giving up their time for free to support DENS and the work we do. All the money raised through this program will be used to provide services and support to people in Dacorum facing homelessness, poverty and social exclusion. Thanks to their commitment, the donation you make in return for their professional services will be used to help people take the next positive steps in their lives.

The recommended minimum donation amounts are:

• £175 for a single basic Will
• £295 for a pair of basic mirror Wills

Your whole donation will be gifted to DENS to support our work, as our legal specialists are donating their time to help raise funds. These suggested donation amounts are much lower than the standard rates for Will-writing, so we would encourage people to be as generous as possible with their donation.

We expect the Will to be completed and signed within 8 weeks of starting the process, otherwise additional solicitor fees may be incurred.
