How to do YOUR SLEEPOUT
It doesn’t matter where you sleep as long as it’s not in your bed! Sleep in your garden, your office or camp out in your living room.

Here are some essential items you’ll need for YOUR SLEEPOUT:
A suitable, warm sleeping bag
Make sure it’s one with a high TOG rating and certified for outdoor use
Cardboard boxes to make your bed
These will help keep you dry and protected from the wind. Here are our friends from JamVans creating a makeshift shelter last year – you could do the same

Waterproof sheet if you are sleeping on grass, or a survival bag to stop you getting wet
Lots of layers, warm socks and clothes
The temperature drops in the early hours of the morning, so make sure you’re wrapped up warm
Snacks and water
Have plenty of food and drink on hand to keep your energy levels up through the night
Sleepout Decorations
Why not make some lovely lanterns out of old jam jars to create a warm glow on the night? Battery powered tealights are a safe way to light up your lanterns and let them shine as a symbol of hope for those facing homelessness
